More commonly known as a stretched type 42 destroyer HMS Manchester was commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1982, displacing over 4,774tonnes and with her mixed armament of Sea Dart missiles, Vickers 4.5 inch gun, twin 20mm. Oerlikons, triple torpedo launchers and Lynx has MkII anti-ship/submarine helicopter she fulfils a variety of roles within the navy.
 
Powered by two Rolls Royce Olympus gas turbines developing over 60,000shp arranged in the CoGoG configuration she is capable of over 30knots and has virtually a world wide range.
 
Our beautifully moulded hull comes complete with all stern cut-outs, hawse holes and waterline moulded in, the superb set of highly detailed drawings by MARBETH DESIGNS allows for a really accurate and highly detailed model to be constructed.
